Nevada Learning Series Product Line Celebrates a Birth in the Family
If spring truly is a time of rebirth and rejuvenation, then what better moment to welcome a few exciting new additions to an already esteemed family. Reference tool developer Nevada Learning Series, creator of the award-winning Original Quick Reference Guide series of IT teaching aides, is pleased to announce the release of an all new line of Spotlight Guides, designed to walk users through some of the more complex functions of today’s leading office software.
Born of the ongoing and very fruitful dialog Nevada shares with a client base ranging from small businesses to multinational organizations and government agencies, the Spotlight Guides series is meant to offer further insight into a more targeted selection of mid-level software features previously touched on in broader terms within the company’s more generalized Quick Reference line. Tied closely to the Microsoft Office 2007 suite for its initial run, each guide aims to tackle one fully fleshed-out theme – a far more comprehensive approach intended to benefit both novice and more advanced software users alike. Titles featured in the first selection include Referencing Tools and Mail Merge for Microsoft Word 2007, Pivot Tables, Sorting & Filtering, and Formulas & Functions for Microsoft Excel, and Animations for Microsoft PowerPoint 2007, with more titles slated for release in the very near future. Nevada’s new Spotlight Guide series serves as the perfect accompaniment to their industry leading Quick Reference tools.

With a great deal of anticipation and ambitious exuberance, reference tool leader Nevada Learning Series will be making a fresh-faced return this week to the FOSE conference for innovative technology solutions. Described as the largest and most comprehensive IT exposition in the world, the 33-year old annual gathering remains the premiere marketplace for government-focused technologies, with its ever-evolving host of workshops, presentations, and keynote speakers representing many of the industry’s leading developers and voices. In an industry that seemingly shifts and changes with every waking breath, Nevada’s presence at FOSE 2009 will undoubtedly bring many invaluable returns as the company seeks not only to learn from the expected crop of new advancements on display this year, but to share its own direction for the future with those business partners new and old that will be in attendance. Account Executives Lisa Proto and Lori Steele will be leading the Nevada team through the event – held this year from March 10-12 – as the company uses this understandably rare opportunity for face-to-face meetings with a number of coveted clients to solidify relationships and present its novel vision for a year already rumbling along at break-neck pace.
Nevada Learning Series, a North American leader in office-related referencing tools, kicks off 2009 in a service-focused mood with the launch of a fresh new website boasting increased usability and smoother navigation. The new website features a host of tools aimed at keeping users even more closely connected to the good people behind the Nevada name. Improvements have been made throughout the site, with close attention being lent to the company’s expanded range of customization options, designed to offer superior adaptability and meet the diverse needs of Nevada’s expansive client base. High traffic areas like the popular customer requests and inquiries pages have also been expanded, allowing users complete access to the entire Nevada product line through regularly updated catalogs and samples. The result is a far more efficient ordering process that makes purchasing choices clear and simple, while providing for timely interactions with informed Nevada representatives should any problems arise. More than just a crisp coat of paint, the many upgrades featured in the new Nevada website ensure greater maneuverability and a more pleasurable overall experience to both returning clients and new visitors alike.

As we all progress into the new year with high hopes and much good cheer, the hard working, innovative team at Nevada Learning Series is looking forward with enthusiastic verve and decided optimism as the company reaches to the future with a host of improved offerings for 2009.
Customization
With more and more of our valued guide users expressing their desire for features that more specifically suit their individual needs, customization has become our primary focus. It represents a shift in approach that has resulted in many fundamental improvements in the range of products we offer at Nevada, as well as our ability to satisfy an increasingly diverse audience of faithful users. The latter half of 2008 saw the completion of a few exciting new projects which have opened up a whole new range of opportunities and services we can now offer confidently to those in need of quick and convenient reference tools of any sort, regardless of the subject matter.
Making our first foray into the world of health education and veterans’ services, our passionate and experienced development team completed two comprehensive handbooks for the staff and patients of a prominent US government agency, a welcomed achievement that stretched Nevada far beyond its previous homestead of strictly IT-related reference tools. This was shortly followed by the ground-up creation of a fully customized laptop guide that not only offered simple instructions on the use of the new laptop for many uninitiated employees, but also detailed explanations of how the computer’s general use would fit into a host of new system additions recently implemented into the client’s office environment. It was a task that required our team to not only explain the laptop’s operation, but to fully understand and convey the related inner workings of the client’s business and the obligations that went along with using this new device.
All of these progressive steps were kicked off with the ambitious undertaking of presenting an expansive collection of the most widely used core software titles such as Lotus Notes, Outlook, and the entire Microsoft Office suite with translation into 23 languages to better serve those with global business needs. It was an endeavor that has found much success with looking for a simple, one-stop solution to the task of providing instructional resources to an international workforce.
In addition, we have also responded to the often hinted at demand for a slightly more in-depth look at topics brushed upon in our main software guides with a set of mini-reference tools. These “task” guides are designed to expand upon some of the finer, more troublesome points of functions used in common titles such as Microsoft’s Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
In all, these many experiences have left our team more assured (as we hope it will our many users) in its ability to comprehend, value, filter, and pass virtually along any type of pertinent information in a way that can be best understood and applied by the desired audience.
Approaching the Future
Of course, with the success of the past comes the necessity to devise a plan for continued success in the future, and to that and Nevada Learning Series is decidedly ahead of the curve. Based on a firm acknowledgement of our strengths, weaknesses, and desired goals, Nevada has laid out a course action that will not only guarantee the continued level and quality of guide content our existing users have come to expect, but that those users and others will be drawn to that many new resources we hope to provide throughout this new year. With the implementation of both weekly and quarterly sales meetings, as well as the adopting of Salesforce.com into our daily business operations, we hope to ensure that Nevada remains a positive source of reference tools for your organization or business for many years to come.
