Tick marks and gridlines

To open the formatting dialog box for a chart element, double-click that chart element. When selecting elements, you can press the keys to move the selection handles from one major chart element to another, or the keys to toggle through chart sub-elements.

To turn gridlines on/off: click inside the main chart area, then from the Chart menu, choose Chart Options. Click the Gridlines tab. Click the Major gridlines and/or Minor gridlines checkboxes for X-, Y- or Z-axes. Click OK.

To turn tick marks on/off: double-click any number on the Y- or Z-axis, or any X-axis label. Click the Patterns tab, and select tick mark options.
